The Carolina Renaissance Festival provided tickets in exchange for this review. All opinions, thoughts, and tips are my own.
Are you looking for a fun, unique adventure for the family? Look no further than the Carolina Renaissance Festival. This yearly festival includes activities for kids and adults alike! From shops to eating, the Carolina Renaissance Festival is a day trip that has turned into an annual event for our family. This was the first time that the triplets were old enough to attend.
Walking into the festival can be a little overwhelming at first. There are so many activities and vendors. We typically do a quick walk through of the entire festival before doing anything. This allows us to make a mental list of everything that we would like to do before leaving.
Our favorite family activities at the festival are the jousting and the petting zoo. Both of these activities are free. The Petting Zoo lasts the entire day of the festival, but the jousting tournaments are only at certain times throughout the day. Be sure to check the schedule when arriving at the festival to make sure that you do not miss the jousting. The jousting tournament was my boys' favorite part of the day.
There is plenty of food, and the parking is free. Arrive at the festival early for a great parking spot.
The rides for the kids throughout the festival are not free, but the prices for these are not terribly expensive. We let the kids each have their choice of a ride or activity to do.
Of course, the costumes are a fun part of the festical. Feel free to let the kids (or yourself!) dress up. There so many people in costume, and it is part of the experience. We didn't dress up, but we enjoyed looking at the assortment of costumes.
