I don’t know about you but my entire family loves LEGOs. That is why I was so excited to be given the opportunity by UsFamilyGuide to attend the LEGO KidsFest in the Charlotte area recently. It is truly an event for children of all ages. My 9-year-old daughter goes with the flow, but my 12-year-old son is hard to please sometimes so I wasn’t sure how this outing was going to go, but my son loved it. I think it was more enjoyable because we went with friends who also had kids around the same age.
I liked how it was divided up into different areas. They had the LEGO Model Museum, Challenge Zone, Race Ramps, LEGO build areas, LEGO Friends and more.
It was mostly boys with our group but my daughter had one friend her age she could enjoy the LEGO Friends section with. At various stations, the kids get to build something, and then turn it in to an employee at that station, who gives then a bag with LEGOs so they can build their LEGO friends model at home. I thought that was nice.
Kayla’s was of a stage/platform for an entertainer.
My son also received a LEGO bag, his was a garbage truck.
The LEGO Model Museum was pretty neat with models of all sizes. There were models from the latest Star Wars movie, Superman, a life size zebra made of LEGOs and more.
The biggest highlight for the kids was the big brick pile. Who knew? I was amazed that a floor with piles of LEGOs would keep kids attention for so long. I think the kids played in the pile for an hour. Fortunately they had seats set up around the pile of LEGOs for parents to sit. Who would have thought this would have been the highlight of the whole day for the kids. I need to pull all the LEGOs out of the kids room and put them in a pile in our play room and see how long they spend playing in it. I give them 5 minutes tops. lol.
I give the LEGO KidsFest an 8/10. If the LEGO event is coming to an area near you I encourage you to attend. I think you will enjoy it. It was a great time to spend with family and friends. I am happy I was given the opportunity to attend.
I received complimentary tickets from U. S. Family Guide but the thoughts are 100% mine.
